Tips for painting

Joint areas

A darker tone (if the shade of the other surface is light) or increased glossiness during work for wet and dry paint layers in joint areas.

Cause:
Failure to maintain the “wet edge” during work.

Solution:
Maintain the “wet edge” during work by applying the paint in the direction to the unpainted area and then back to the freshly painted area. This technique (painting with brush or roller “from wet to dry”, rather than vice versa) ensures a smooth and even surface. When painting wooden surfaces, work forward plank by plank. When painting rock surfaces, paint approximately 1.5 m2 of area at a time. The joint areas should be planned, for example, by the window, near doors or in corners (particularly important when applying a wood protective agent). Alkyd paints have better “wet edge” properties than latex paints, since they dry slower.
