Auson Tjärolja, a high-quality untinted resin tar oil based on natural pine tar, provides deep and long-lasting protection for wood in outdoor conditions. This liquid-consistency resin tar oil penetrates deep into the wood, effectively preventing drying and reducing the risk of cracking.

Auson Tjärolja forms a strong protective barrier against moisture penetration, thus significantly prolonging the life of the wood. The product contains natural resins and terpenes—wood’s natural protectors against microorganisms—which also help heal surface damage. AUSON wood tar is obtained by heating resin-rich pine wood in a special furnace.

Initially, after treatment, the wood takes on a slightly golden/greyish tint, which gradually diminishes over time with exposure to UV radiation and weathering, allowing the wood to regain its natural shade. However, the protective properties remain unchanged. The oil does not form a film, does not peel, and does not turn black over time. The pungent smell of tar diminishes within a few days and is barely perceptible after a month. The treated surface can be used (e.g., walking on the terrace) when the oil has completely soaked into the wood.

Application:

Auson Tjärolja is ideal for the protection of untreated wood in outdoor applications:

• For patio boards.
• For boards.
• For garden furniture.
• Other wood surfaces where a low-viscosity tar product is required.

Technical characteristics:

• Colour: Light brown (liquid form); initial effect on wood: slightly golden/greyish, which fades with time.
• Density: 1,04 ± 0,03 kg/litre
• Dry residue: 60%
• Consumption: 6-10 m²/litre (depending on the wood surface absorption capacity and treatment method)
• Drying time: Several days to several weeks (depending on weather conditions, type of wood, surface smoothness/roughness, applied layer thickness, and wood absorption capacity).
• Dilution: Balsamic turpentine. CAUTION! White Spirit must not be used.
• Cleaning of tools: Balsamic turpentine, denatured alcohol, or soap and water.

Directions for use (at a glance):

For best results, use Auson Tjärolja in warm weather (at least +10°C). Mix thoroughly before use. Apply to a clean, dry surface with a brush, roller, or spray. Wipe off excess oil with a cloth dampened in turpentine or denatured alcohol. Ensure good ventilation. For outdoor use only. Do not apply to surfaces previously painted with opaque paints.
