Protruding resin on wooden cladding, particularly in knot locations.
Causes:
Using resin-rich conifer for cladding planks (for example, pine, spruce);
Knot locations have not been impregnated with a special knot varnish;
Using a dark finish paint (particularly on souther sides);
Excessively thin layer of paint.
Solution:
Clean the protruding resin from knot locations and impregnate the knot locations with a special knot varnish. When using a dark paint finish, impregnate the knot locations twice, particularly on the southern side, since a dark shade will heat up more in the sun and the resin will become runny.
