Protrusion of surfactants on the surface of latex paint. This phenomenon can manifest itself as reddish-brown or brown stains that can be glossy, soapy or sticky. They are more visible when using tinted paint.
Cause:
Painting during cool, humid weather or before rain, dew or fog. Increased humidity causes the protrusion of surfactants to the surface.
Solution:
Avoid painting late in the afternoon or before rain. Protruded surfactants can be easily washed off with water. The problem is not long-lasting and does not impact the longevity of the paint layer.
