1. Remove peeling or weakly attached layers of paint using a scraper.
2. Clean dirt, fat and oil with a cleaning agent, according to the instructions on the label. Smaller areas can be cleaned using a solvent. Dry the surfaces with a clean cloth.
3. Remove rust using a steel brush or sandpaper, and polish glossy surfaces until they become matt. Clean the surfaces with a dust brush and cloth.
4. Prime unpainted metal surfaces with an anti-corrosion primer.
5. Paint the surface twice with a water-based paint.
6. Clean the tools according to instructions on the label.
