Tips for painting

Restoring stained wooden doors

1. Clean dust and dirt from the surfaces using a brush. Remove resin from knot locations.
2. Clean dusty and mouldy surfaces with a cleaning agent, according to the instructions on the label. Cover glass surfaces and surfaces that you do not wish to paint. Carefully rinse the surfaces with water and let them dry.
3. Remove the old and peeling staining layer with a scraper.
4. Exchange wood parts that have deteriorated and become grey.
5. Polish the old, strong layer of staining until it becomes matted, and then remove polishing dust with a brush.
6. Prime the surfaces that have been cleaned up to pure wood with a wood impregnating agent.
7. Depending on the state of the surface, treat the surfaces once of twice with a wood protective agent.
8. Clean the tools according to instructions on the label, using water or solvent.
