Repainting painted metal windows

1. Clean dirt, fat and oil with a cleaning agent, according to the instructions on the label. Properly rinse the surfaces. Smaller areas can be cleaned using a solvent. Dry the surfaces with a clean cloth.
2. Remove rust and a peeling or weakly adhering paint layer with a steel brush or sandpaper. Remove dust with a brush.
3. Polish the old, strong layer of paint until it becomes matted, and then remove polishing dust with a brush.
4. Prime metal surfaces with a suitable anti-corrosion primer.
5. Paint the surfaces once or twice with a paint finish.
6. Clean the tools according to instructions on the label, using water or solvent.
