Prior to painting
Prior to using a product always read the instructions on the label.
The area to be painted must be clean and dry, air temperature must be in the range from +5 °C to +28 °C, and relative air humidity must be below 80%. During painting avoid draught and high temperatures (above +28 °C). When working with water-based paints, dry air can cause excessively fast paint drying during the painting. Comply with recommendations in the product instructions and on the label.
It is recommended to select primer and finish paint with the same shade.
When treating a wooden surface with a transparent product, the resulting tone depends on the type of wood, wood hardness and the initial tone, as well as on the number of applied layers of product. Carry out a test!
To obtain a uniform result when using a semi-transparent product, treat the planks sequentially, proceeding in the direction of the grain.
Remove resin from knot locations using a scraper or putty knife.
Select the product according to the degree of gloss and the desired properties. A matted surface creates the impression of a deeper and more velvety surface, while a glossy surface allows the paints to shine.
When working with putty, choose a tone that matches the wood.
To avoid tone differences, previously prepare a sufficient amount of paint in a separate vessel.
During painting
Carefully mix the product prior to use and during use.
If you are painting the entire room, always start with the ceiling. Then paint the walls.
When working with water-based paints, dry air can cause excessively fast paint drying during the painting, therefore it is not recommended to paint interior walls when the weather is very hot and dry.
Place the roller and the brush in a bag and carefully close it; that way you will be able to reuse them the next day.
Use high-quality tools. A high-quality brush has good paint capacity, does not leave bristles on the surface, and the obtained painted surface will be even.
Bear in mind that the true paint tone will only be visible after the paint has dried.
After painting
If you have not used up all of the product, carefully close the cover of the container. After opening the can, it cannot be stored for long.
Remains of liquid paint should be delivered to a toxic waste collection centre. Empty and dry packaging should be recycled or disposed as rubbish.
After painting the surface should not be put under intensive load, since the paint only achieves its final stiffness and resistance to abrasion after approximately a month. If the surface must previously be cleaned, it should be done carefully, using a wet sponge or cloth.
