Tips for painting

Varnishing wooden doors

1. Clean dust and dirt from the surfaces, using a dust brush. Remove resin from knot locations using a putty knife.
2. Lightly wet the surfaces with water, let them dry and polish the timber grain that is raised above the surface.
3. Putty the uneven areas with a putty of an appropriate colour tone.
4. Polish the treated locations with sandpaper and remove the polishing dust with a brush and cloth.
5. Prime the surface with a varnish that has been diluted with approx. 20% solvent.
6. Lightly polish the surface between varnishing and remove the polishing dust with a brush and cloth.
7. Varnish the surface twice using tinted or non-tinted varnish.
8. Clean the tools according to instructions on the label.
