1. Optimal results can be achieved by polishing the surface up to the wood layer and varnishing it as a new surface.
2. Remove resin from knot locations, and remove peeling and weakly attached layers of varnish using a scraper.
3. Polish the old, strong layer of varnish until it becomes matted, and then remove polishing dust with a brush.
4. Clean surfaces with a cleaning agent, according to the instructions on the label. Carefully rinse the surfaces and let them dry.
5. Putty the uneven areas with a putty of an appropriate colour tone.
6. Polish the treated locations with sandpaper and remove the polishing dust with a brush.
7. Prime the entire surface with a varnish that has been diluted with 20-30% water.
8. Varnish the surface once or twice.
9. Clean the tools with soapy water and carefully rinse.
